Question 1

What are the exact photo and signature dimensions for PAN Card applications (NSDL & UTIITSL)?

Accepted Answer

For both NSDL and UTIITSL online PAN card applications, the mandatory requirements are:
• Photo: Exactly 213 × 213 pixels (or 3.5 × 2.5 cm at 300 DPI), file size under 30 KB (typically 20–30 KB), in JPEG format with a clean white/light background.
• Signature: Exactly 400 × 200 pixels (or 2 × 4.5 cm at 300 DPI), file size under 20 KB (typically 10–20 KB), with clear black or blue ink on plain white paper.

PixelDocu includes dedicated one-click PAN presets that automatically crop to 213×213 and 400×200 while embedding the exact 300 DPI header required by NSDL/UTIITSL upload validators.

Question 2

How do I resize photo and signature for SSC CGL, CHSL, MTS, and GD online forms?

Accepted Answer

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) enforces strict upload criteria:
• Passport Photo: File size must be between 20 KB and 50 KB. Dimensions must be 3.5 cm width × 4.5 cm height (around 100 × 120 pixels or 200–300 DPI). The photo must be clear, without spectacles or caps, with both ears clearly visible on a white/off-white background.
• Signature: File size must be between 10 KB and 20 KB. Dimensions must be 4.0 cm width × 2.0 cm height (around 140 × 60 pixels) in JPEG/JPG format.

Using PixelDocu's SSC presets ensures the output files are guaranteed to be within the 20–50 KB and 10–20 KB limits without blurriness.

Question 3

How do I add Name and Date of Photo (DOP) on UPSC CSE, NDA, and CDS exam photos?

Accepted Answer

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) requires that uploaded photographs must have been taken within 10 days of filling the application form, with the candidate's full name and Date of Taking Photograph (DOP) clearly printed at the bottom.

PixelDocu includes a specialized "UPSC with DOP Strip" feature in the Photo Resizer. Simply enter your full name and the photograph date; our engine generates an official white strip at the bottom with crisp black typography and scales the image to UPSC standard dimensions (350×350 to 1000×1000 px, 20–300 KB).

Question 4

What are the dimensions for IBPS, SBI PO & Clerk thumb impressions and handwritten declarations?

Accepted Answer

For IBPS, SBI, and RBI banking exams:
• Photo: 200 × 230 pixels, 20 KB – 50 KB.
• Signature: 140 × 60 pixels, 10 KB – 20 KB (signatures in CAPITAL letters are rejected).
• Left Thumb Impression (LTI): 240 × 240 pixels (3 cm × 3 cm at 200 DPI), 20 KB – 50 KB, on white paper with black or blue ink.
• Handwritten Declaration: 800 × 400 pixels (10 cm × 5 cm at 200 DPI), 50 KB – 100 KB, written in English with black ink.

PixelDocu has instant one-click presets for IBPS Photo, Signature, and Left Thumb Impression.

Question 5

How to resize photos for State Police Constable & Sub-Inspector recruitment forms?

Accepted Answer

State police recruitment boards (such as UP Police PRPB, Delhi Police, Bihar Police CSBC, Rajasthan Police, and Maharashtra Police) typically demand:
• Passport photo: 3.5 × 4.5 cm (20 KB to 50 KB, or sometimes 50 KB to 100 KB depending on the notification).
• Signature: 3.5 × 1.5 cm (10 KB to 20 KB).
• High resolution 200/300 DPI scanning without dark shadows.

PixelDocu provides pre-calibrated presets for State Police and Defense exams so candidates and cyber cafe operators don't have to calculate pixel conversions manually.

Question 6

Why do government exam portals reject uploaded photos, and how does PixelDocu prevent rejection?

Accepted Answer

Online government portals reject uploads for 4 primary reasons:
1. File size mismatch: Even if an image is 50.1 KB on an SSC portal requiring < 50 KB, the server will throw an error.
2. DPI header metadata missing: Many portals (like PAN or State PSCs) parse image headers to verify 200 or 300 DPI resolution.
3. Incorrect Aspect Ratio: Stretching or squeezing images leads to automatic automated facial check failures.
4. Format issues: Using progressive JPEG or PNG instead of standard baseline JPEG.

PixelDocu solves all 4 issues: our binary-search compressor strictly forces file size below the ceiling, injects exact JFIF 300 DPI headers, locks proportional aspect ratios, and exports standard baseline JPEG format.

Question 7

How can I compress an image or signature to exactly under 20 KB or 50 KB without blurriness?

Accepted Answer

Standard online compressors use crude lossy settings that often blur small signatures or make text unreadable. PixelDocu uses an iterative binary-search compression algorithm running in local browser RAM:
1. Open the "Target KB Compressor" tab.
2. Upload your JPEG, PNG, or WebP file.
3. Choose one of our quick presets (e.g., < 20 KB, < 50 KB, < 100 KB) or enter a custom target KB.
4. PixelDocu calculates the mathematical balance between quantization tables and pixel density to produce the highest possible clarity that remains strictly under your chosen KB threshold.

Question 8

Can I compress PDF documents (such as Marksheets, Caste, and Income Certificates) to under 100 KB or 200 KB?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most government and scholarship forms require scanned PDF documents (such as 10th/12th marksheets, Aadhaar scans, domicile, or caste certificates) to be strictly between 100 KB and 300 KB.
PixelDocu's compressor optimizes PDF stream buffers, removes redundant metadata, and recompresses embedded images to ensure your document satisfies the upload size limit while keeping all grades, roll numbers, and official stamps 100% legible.

Question 9

Why does sending signatures over WhatsApp make them blurry, and how can I fix it?

Accepted Answer

When you send photos over WhatsApp without document mode, WhatsApp applies aggressive chroma subsampling and reduces image dimensions, which destroys fine lines in signatures. To fix this:
1. Upload the original camera photo to PixelDocu's Govt Resizer or Target Compressor.
2. Our engine preserves high-contrast black ink against white paper and resizes using bicubic canvas interpolation.
3. The resulting signature is sharp, meets the 10–20 KB requirement, and easily passes verification scanners.

Question 10

How do I create a 4×6 inch (10×15 cm) passport photo sheet with 6 or 8 photos for printing?

Accepted Answer

With PixelDocu's Passport Studio, you don't need Adobe Photoshop or studio software to generate print-ready photo sheets:
1. Open the "Passport Studio" tab and upload your passport photo.
2. Crop your photo to the standard 3.5 × 4.5 cm passport ratio.
3. Choose your sheet size: standard 4×6" photo paper (fits 6 or 8 photos) or A4 paper (fits up to 30+ photos).
4. Customize spacing, cutting borders, and background color (white, light blue, or light grey).
5. Click "Direct Print" to print directly to your photo printer (Epson, Canon, HP) or download a 300 DPI high-resolution JPEG ready for any local photo lab.

Question 11

What printer settings and paper should I use for printing passport photos?

Accepted Answer

To achieve crisp, lab-quality results:
• Paper: Use Glossy or Matte 4×6" (100×150 mm) or A4 inkjet photo paper (180–240 GSM).
• Printer Resolution: Set printer print quality to "High" or "Photo Paper Glossy" at 300 DPI.
• Scaling: CRITICAL: Always select "Actual Size" or "100%" in your printer dialogue. Never select "Fit to Printable Area", as that will distort the exact 3.5 × 4.5 cm photo dimensions.
• PixelDocu provides subtle cutting guidelines on the sheet so you can cut photos with a paper trimmer or scissors with millimeter precision.

Question 12

What background color is accepted for Indian and international passport photos?

Accepted Answer

• Indian Passports, Visas & Govt Forms: Plain white or off-white background is universally required. Clothing must be dark or contrasting with shoulders visible.
• Bank Passbooks & School/College IDs: Light blue, white, or light grey backgrounds are commonly accepted.
• In PixelDocu's Passport Studio, you can toggle between pristine white, light blue (b9d5f7), or transparent backgrounds with a single click before assembling your print sheet.

Question 13

How do I remove the password from an e-Aadhaar PDF? What is the password format?

Accepted Answer

The default password format set by UIDAI for every e-Aadhaar PDF is:
First 4 letters of your name in CAPITAL letters + 4 digits of your birth year (YYYY).

Examples:
• Name: RISHABH KUSHWAHA, Year: 1998 → Password: RISH1998
• Name: S. ANITA, Year: 1992 → Password: S.AN1992
• Name: RIA, Year: 2003 → Password: RIA2003

How to unlock on PixelDocu:
1. Go to PDF Toolkit → "Unlock e-Aadhaar".
2. Select your password-protected PDF and enter your 8-character password once.
3. PixelDocu verifies the credentials locally and generates a permanently unlocked PDF that you can open, print, or share without entering a password every time.

Question 14

Is it safe to unlock e-Aadhaar cards, bank statements, or salary slips on PixelDocu?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it is 100% safe and secure. Unlike other websites that upload your confidential e-Aadhaar PDF or bank statements to remote cloud servers (where they could be intercepted or stored in server logs), PixelDocu operates completely client-side in your computer's RAM using WebAssembly (pdf-lib).

Your file never leaves your machine. You can verify this yourself by opening your browser's Developer Tools (Network Tab) while unlocking your document—zero bytes of document data are transmitted over the internet.

Question 15

How do I merge multiple PDF files into a single document on PixelDocu?

Accepted Answer

1. Open PDF Toolkit → "Merge PDF Documents".
2. Drag and drop multiple PDF files (e.g., Degree Certificate, 10th Marksheet, Aadhaar scan, Experience letter).
3. Reorder the documents using drag-and-drop handles or arrow buttons.
4. Click "Merge & Download".

Because everything runs in-browser, there are no file count limits, no upload wait times, and no daily quotas.

Question 16

How do I self-attest a PDF document or add an official verification stamp without printing?

Accepted Answer

Traditionally, self-attesting a document required printing the PDF, physically signing it with a pen, and then scanning it back to computer—wasting paper and time.

With PixelDocu's Self-Attest & Digital Stamp tool:
1. Upload your PDF document.
2. Type your self-attestation text (e.g., "Self Attested - [Candidate Name] - [Date]") or CSC Center verification seal.
3. Position the text stamp visually on any page.
4. Download the newly sealed PDF ready for instant portal submission.

Question 17

How do I delete unwanted pages or extract specific pages from a multi-page PDF?

Accepted Answer

In the PDF Toolkit, PixelDocu offers two page manipulation tools:
• Split & Extract: Enter a custom page range (such as "1-3, 5, 8") to extract exactly those pages into a new clean PDF.
• Delete Pages: A visual thumbnail grid shows all pages in the PDF. Simply click to mark unwanted pages (such as blank sheets or disclaimer pages) and download the trimmed document.

Question 18

How does the Dark PDF Inverter save up to 80% printer toner and ink cartridges?

Accepted Answer

Students and operators frequently need to print lecture notes, developer code snippets, slides, or eBooks formatted in dark mode (black background with white text). Printing a 50-page dark PDF exhausts black toner cartridges within minutes and causes paper warping.

PixelDocu's Ink-Saver Inverter analyzes PDF pages and images using HTML5 Canvas pixel manipulation. It inverts deep black and dark grey backgrounds into pure crisp white, while preserving diagram lines, code syntax, and text sharpness. This reduces toner consumption by up to 80%, saving cyber cafe operators thousands of rupees every month.

Question 19

How do I convert mobile photos into a single A4 PDF (CamScanner alternative)?

Accepted Answer

Many mobile scanning apps (like CamScanner or Adobe Scan) require monthly subscriptions, force cloud sign-ups, or print unwanted watermarks across your documents.

PixelDocu offers a 100% free, private CamScanner alternative:
1. Take photos of your document pages with your mobile phone camera.
2. Open the "Document Scanner" tab and select "Photos to A4 PDF".
3. Upload your photos; reorder or rotate them as needed.
4. Click "Generate A4 PDF". PixelDocu aligns each image onto a standard A4 canvas (210 × 297 mm) with clean margins, ready for printing or official uploads.

Question 20

How do I extract high-resolution JPG images from a multi-page PDF?

Accepted Answer

Under Document Scanner → "PDF to High-Res JPG", upload any PDF document. PixelDocu uses high-fidelity PDF rendering to convert each page into a crystal-clear 300 DPI JPEG image. You can preview individual pages, download specific ones, or download all extracted pages in a single ZIP archive.

Question 21

Are my photos, signatures, and government IDs stored on any server?

Accepted Answer

No. Never. PixelDocu has zero backend storage, zero cloud databases, and zero server-side file endpoints.

Every single operation—whether resizing a biometric signature, decrypting an e-Aadhaar card, generating a 300 DPI passport sheet, or merging confidential legal documents—runs exclusively in your web browser's local execution memory (RAM). When you close or refresh your browser tab, the temporary memory buffer is immediately flushed. Your privacy is mathematically protected by architectural design.

Question 22

Is PixelDocu completely free? Are there any daily limits or watermarks?

Accepted Answer

PixelDocu is 100% free to use. There are:
• No subscription tiers or hidden paywalls
• No daily file limits or batch caps
• No account sign-ups or email registrations required
• No watermarks stamped on your processed photos or PDFs

All tools are unrestricted for both individual applicants and commercial operators.

Question 23

Can CSC Centers, Jan Seva Kendras, and Cyber Cafes use PixelDocu commercially?

Accepted Answer

Yes! PixelDocu was purposefully built to empower Common Service Centre (CSC) operators, Jan Seva Kendra operators, and Cyber Cafe staff.

Instead of opening bulky desktop software like Photoshop and spending 10 minutes setting canvas dimensions, rulers, and JPEG compression dialogs for every customer, operators can use PixelDocu's instant one-click presets to process customer photos, signatures, and documents in under 15 seconds. It is completely free for commercial and daily kiosk operations.

Question 24

Can I use PixelDocu offline without an active internet connection?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once you load https://pixeldocu.com in your web browser, all core web worker scripts, WebAssembly binary modules, and style sheets are cached locally by your browser.

You can disconnect from Wi-Fi or mobile data, or work in remote areas with unstable internet connectivity, and all photo resizing, DPI adjustments, and PDF processing features will continue working seamlessly.
